
Karen McKibbin, Psy.D.
Dr. Karen McKibbin specializes in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with co-occurring conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression, ADHD), and has over 20 years of experience. After training to provide in-home therapy for children on the autism spectrum in Ireland, Dr. McKibbin moved to the USA to study Clinical Psychology at Pacific University. She trained at John Hopkins University, specializing in the treatment of feeding disorders and also in the treatment of children and adolescents on the autism spectrum. Dr. McKibbin returned to Portland Oregon and worked at the Autism Program at OHSU, where she was also the clinical coordinator for the program for the Autism Treatment Network (ATN). In 2011, she opened the Portland Autism Center, LLC which was a private practice that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum. Dr. McKibbin has also worked with Dr. Tony Attwood, the leading expert in the field of autism spectrum disorders, at his clinics in Australia. She has provided presentations and trainings across the state of Oregon on ASD and published a book in 2015 about females on the autism spectrum entitled “Life on the Autism Spectrum: A Guide for Girls and Women”. In her spare time, Dr McKibbin likes spending time with her family, cooking, hiking and kayaking.
