Meg Boden Alvey, Psy.D.
I am a licensed psychologist in Oregon and a graduate of George Fox University (B.A., M.A., Psy. D.). I have experience working with adolescents and adults with a range of mental health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, grief, relationship conflict, behavioral problems, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. In addition to individual work, I often use family therapy and parenting consultation to support parents and, if necessary, suggest changes in the family to improve connectedness and communication. Clinically, I draw from various clinical approaches but most often utilize the interventions from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and various art therapy directives to help clients develop emotional awareness, coping skills, and improved interpersonal relationships. I also provide assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults with the goal of making evaluation results meaningful and useful to clients, their families, educators, and other providers. Beyond my clinical work with people in the Portland metro area, I am humbled to have cared for a foster child in our home and having provided consultation to a non-profit serving women and children affected by the sex trade in Mumbai, India. Meg, her husband, and their three children relish living in the Portland metro area with mountains, bodies of water, and forests nearby.
