Jackie Ewald, Psy.D

Dr. Jackie began her career as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio before pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology.  She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) with a child and adolescent focus from George Fox University and completed her residency at The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Jackie is a postdoctoral psychology resident who is supervised by Dr. Meg Boden Alvey, PsyD.

Jackie specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by trauma, OCD, behavioral challenges, attachment difficulties, and neurodevelopmental concerns. She is especially passionate about supporting children and caregivers navigating trauma and working to create greater emotional safety, connection, and resilience within families.

Her therapeutic approach is relational, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Jackie also has specialized training in working with children who have experienced problematic sexual behavior and sexual trauma. She is committed to helping clients and families feel connected, supported, and hopeful throughout the healing process.

Jackie has experience working with clients from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and family backgrounds across various settings. She is committed to providing culturally responsive care and recognizes the importance of understanding each client within the context of their relationships, identities, and lived experiences. Jackie knows that therapy is hard work and emphasizes the importance of incorporating fun, laughter, and joy throughout the healing journey.

In addition to therapy, Jackie provides psychological assessment services. She has experience conducting comprehensive evaluations to clarify concerns related to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, anxiety, mood difficulties, learning differences, and emotional or behavioral functioning. When completing assessments for children, she strives to help families better understand their child’s strengths, challenges, and treatment needs through thoughtful and compassionate assessment.

Outside of work, Jackie loves trying new things and exploring. She loves being out in nature, hiking, skiing, biking, and adventuring with her perfect dog, Zeus. Jackie prioritizes spending time with others and finding humor and joy in everyday life.
