Matthew Block, LPC
Matthew Block is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. Matthew sees teens, adults, couples and families. He enjoys helping people work through ADHD, addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma identity development, parenting support, and spiritual concerns. He believes people are influenced by their biological temperament, life experiences, past and present relationships with significant people, and their core values. His approach to therapy incorporates cognitive methods (examining one’s thoughts and beliefs). He views counseling as a collaborative effort in helping clients to recognize strengths, identify needs, understand conflicts, discover new options, set personal growth goals, and make informed choices.
Matthew earned his B.A. at Multnomah University. He received his Master’s in Counseling from Western Seminary. Prior to working for SCS Matt has worked in private practice at River Ridge Counseling and Northwest ADHD treatment center. His clinical experience includes working at a residential treatment program for teens, and his internships were at Northwest Family Services and A New Day Counseling Center.
